It is Raining Gold for Wossa – Carinthian Water Wins Four Awards in International Competitions

Fine Waters in Spain

Wossa wins double gold for Still and Sparkling in the super low minerality category at the Taste and Design Awards 2024 of Fine Waters in Spain. Additionally, the Carinthian water also secures the silver medal for can design and the Luxury Lifestyle Award for the best premium water in Austria.

Once again, it shows that water is not just water! Each water has its own story and its own nuances that you can taste, as confirmed by international water sommeliers. More than 100 different waters from over 37 countries were tasted, and the Austrian water ‘Wossa’ won gold twice for its taste in the ‘Super Low Category’ for both Still and Sparkling. In previous years, Wossa had already won the silver medal for the still and sparkling variants. This year, the canned variant was presented for the first time and immediately secured the silver medal for design.

The jury consisted of international water sommeliers and entrepreneurs in the water industry.

  • Michael Mascha – Founder of FineWaters and the Fine Water Academy (Water Sommelier)
  • Elena Berg – Certified Water Sommelier and Professor of Environmental Science at the American University of Paris
  • Pat Eckert – Owner of “Fine Liquids” (international water shipping company and co-owner of “Fine Liquids Water Boutique” and “Fine Liquids Art Gallery” in London)
  • Ruriko Suzuki – Former television and radio presenter and Water Sommelier from Japan
  • Silvia Stefanuca-Serban – Water Sommelier with over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Nico Pietterse – Founder of the Fine Water Company and Water Sommelier from South Africa

MORE ABOUT WOSSA

Wossa is sourced from a marble spring located in the beautiful Lavant Valley in Carinthia, Austria, and graces gourmet tables worldwide. What’s new is that Wossa is now available in recyclable 250ml aluminum cans. These cans are not only resource-efficient but also help minimize the ecological footprint.

Available in still and sparkling variants, Wossa promises a refreshing experience sourced directly from the pristine springs of the Lavant Valley. The water is renowned for its premium quality and distinctive taste, shaped by the unique geological features of the region.

The source is located at 1,110 meters above sea level on a 300-year-old farm. No cultivation is conducted in the area above the source, and the farm has been managed according to ecological and organic principles for more than a generation. This ensures that the water remains uncontaminated and maintains its excellent quality.

The water is hand-filled at the source using a small, specially crafted facility, emphasizing its high-quality artisanal production with low output. To reflect sustainability and regional identity in its design, an Austrian designer was chosen. The result is a glass bottle adorned with a genuine wood cap and premium paper label. The glass bottle is not only sustainable but also designed to be reused by consumers in their homes.
