LLA: Could you share some insights into the challenges and rewards of managing a luxury desert resort like Desert Nights?

Srinith De Silva: Managing a resort such as Desert Nights is extremely rewarding but has its own set of challenges. Some of the main challenges include:

Extreme Weather Conditions: Desert regions often experience extreme temperature variations, from scorching heat during the day to chilly nights. Managing the resort’s infrastructure and ensuring guest comfort in such conditions can be challenging.

Water Management: Water is a precious resource in the desert. Ensuring a sustainable and responsible approach to water usage, such as efficient irrigation and wastewater treatment, is crucial. It can be challenging to strike a balance between luxury amenities and environmental conservation.

Isolation: Many desert resorts are located in remote areas, which can be challenging for logistics, sourcing supplies, and providing access to medical facilities in case of emergencies.

Energy Supply: Generating and storing energy in a remote desert location, especially if the resort aims to be eco-friendly, can be difficult. Solar power and other renewable energy sources are often used, but their reliability can be a challenge.
