Developed in partnership with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and UNESCO, The Chedi Al Bait was created through the meticulous restoration of seven historic Emirati manor houses, once home to local families, now reimagined as an intimate 65-key luxury resort.

Blending timeless Arabian elegance with GHM’s signature Asian-inspired design sensibility, the single-story resort preserves Sharjah’s architectural identity while introducing modern comforts. Original features such as traditional carpentry, woodwork, and courtyards are complemented by serene interiors, bespoke services, and a strong sense of place. Sustainability is central to The Chedi Al Bait’s philosophy and operations. Since 2018, the hotel has maintained a 100% plastic-free environment, eliminating all single-use plastics. A zero-waste initiative focuses on recycling, composting, and food waste reduction, supported by careful inventory management. An in-house water filtration plant produces premium still and sparkling water in sterilised glass bottles, significantly reducing transportation emissions and plastic waste. Energy-efficient systems and eco-conscious amenities have been carefully integrated to respect the heritage architecture.

The hotel’s preservation-led development model demonstrates how environmental responsibility and cultural conservation can coexist.
