The hotel is housed across three meticulously restored historic buildings in Budapest’s iconic District V, blending 19th and 20th-century architecture with modern sophistication. Designed by the renowned Milanese studio Lissoni & Partners, Dorothea Hotel is a harmonious convergence of history and innovation, evoking the Golden Age of Hungary while celebrating contemporary elegance.

In 2024, McNeillie was named one of the TOP 100 Hotel General Managers of the World, an acknowledgment of his exceptional leadership and impact on the luxury hospitality sector. Previously, he held multiple General Manager positions in the UK and Eastern Europe, as well as a Cluster GM role with Marriott International in Tbilisi, Georgia. Over the past 14 years, he has guided properties to deliver outstanding results while fostering team development.

McNeillie’s career began at 17 when he left his native South Africa for Scotland to train as a chef.
