Adega Velha, one of Portugal’s oldest and most revered wine brandies, has been a symbol of tradition and quality for over 50 years. Nestled in the Vinho Verde region, this exceptional brandy is a product of the Guedes family, now in its fifth generation under the leadership of António and Martim Guedes. Adega Velha’s unique character is rooted in its meticulous production process, which involves the distillation of wines made from indigenous red grapes, a rarity in the region increasingly dominated by white grape varieties.

The brandy’s distinctive flavor profile is achieved through a double distillation process in a Charentais alembic, followed by aging in oak barrels at the historic Quinta da Aveleda estate. This ancient method, akin to that of the Cognac region, imparts a complexity and freshness that sets Adega Velha apart.

Adega Velha offers a portfolio of four distinct brandies, each a testament to the brand’s commitment to exclusiveness, tradition, and mastery. In 2019, the innovative “Duplo Estágio” was introduced, aged for 12 years with an additional year in Port wine casks, further enhancing its rich and nuanced flavor.
