PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore brings nature into the heart of the city through a hospitality concept where environmental thinking influences everything from energy and food production to guest experiences and daily operations. Known as Singapore’s first Garden-in-a-Hotel, the property is home to more than 2,400 plants representing 60 varieties of flora, creating a distinctive environment where greenery plays both an aesthetic and practical role.

The hotel’s approach to responsible hospitality was recognized by International Sustainability Awards in 2026 for Environmental Responsibility at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore. The recognition highlights a sustainability program that has continued to develop since December 2020, supported by measurable initiatives across the property.

Among its defining features is an in-house urban farm, where produce and herbs are cultivated for use in the hotel’s restaurant, bar, and spa. The initiative supports Singapore’s wider food resilience ambitions while bringing locally grown ingredients directly into the guest experience.

Resource management is equally central to the hotel’s operations. A rooftop installation of 210 solar panels generates approximately 350 kWh of renewable energy each day. Across its 583 guest rooms, filtered water taps have replaced bottled water, helping eliminate the annual purchase of two million mini plastic bottles.

Technology provides another avenue for reducing resource consumption. The hotel’s Office Paperless System digitizes internal approval processes and contributed to savings of nearly 166,600 sheets of paper in 2025. At banquet events, QR codes displayed on EcoCubes allow guests to access rotating digital menus without printed materials.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay also shares its environmental knowledge beyond the hotel through sustainability tours, community programs, and collaborations with organizations including Singapore’s National Environment Agency and social enterprise Edible Garden City.

Its environmental framework is supported by certifications and standards including the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, BCA Green Mark Super Low Energy, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Looking ahead, the hotel plans to establish an internal Sustainability Think Tank and expand planting throughout the property, continuing to explore practical ways for urban hospitality and environmental responsibility to work together.
