Tasked with creating a safe, flexible, and joyful home for a family with a young daughter, JIXI Design Studio transformed the space into a nurturing environment where aesthetics and function coexist harmoniously. At the heart of the apartment stands a 198cm Miffy lamp—a playful and oversized statement piece that sets the tone for the home’s warm, whimsical atmosphere.
To prioritize child safety, the design features rounded corners across walls, furniture, and tables, significantly extending the construction timeline but ensuring a hazard-free environment. A non-directional circular circulation layout enhances spatial freedom, encouraging playful movement without risk. Adaptable furniture and integrated storage solutions ensure the apartment evolves with the family over time, while also supporting future multigenerational living.
The project is infused with Dutch-inspired home décor—paying homage to the homeowner’s frequent European travels—blending familiarity with innovation. Lighting design, personally curated and adjusted by JIXI’s team, brings out the best in each area’s purpose and mood. Natural materials and subtle contrasts—such as black linear stone flooring and clean wall lines—further define the space, lending both visual depth and modern elegance.
