Completed between August 2021 and February 2023, this award-winning new build epitomizes Bryce Henderson Design’s dedication to modern architecture and environmental harmony. The single-story residence features large windows and glazed facades, offering panoramic views and abundant natural light. The through-flow design incorporates passive cooling, ensuring comfort while maintaining environmental efficiency.

The central kitchen, strategically placed, facilitates social interaction and seamlessly connects various entertainment spaces adaptable to South Africa’s varied climate conditions. Privacy is achieved through carefully placed screen walls and limited eastward openings, harnessing the warmth of northern light. The home’s aesthetic and functional aspects are defined by locally sourced materials such as Malmesbury shale stone, white plastered masonry, and natural timber, complemented by contemporary steel and glass elements. Notable features include a double-volume living wing with a glass skylight and a suspended fireplace on a custom hand-chiseled Paarl rock base.
