The award recognizes the resort’s impactful water conservation initiative, a standout example of sustainability in one of the world’s driest regions.

Between 2020 and 2023, Mövenpick Petra replaced 90% of its guestroom bathtubs with water-efficient walk-in showers, significantly reducing its water consumption. The results were dramatic: usage dropped from 45 million liters in 2019 to 33 million liters by the end of 2023, marking a 25% reduction in just one year.
