Luxury Lifestyle Awards extends congratulations to Guevara Ottonello Architects on its selection as Best Luxury Architect Studio in Uruguay for 2021.  

Guevara Ottonello Architects is a leading interdisciplinary architecture and design studio based in the coastal city of Punta del Este, which is in Maldonado, the capital of Uruguay’s Maldonado Department. It was established by Ian Guevera and Natalia Ottonello. 

Guevara and Ottonello, who are also life partners, enjoy a shared passion for architecture and a mutual tenacity to see their business grow further. Their alignment on the value of architecture has seen them grow their studio into one of Uruguay’s most esteemed design consultancies. Indeed, Guevara Ottonello Architects has designed some of the most iconic buildings in the country.  

Under the pair’s attentive leadership, Guevara Ottonello Architects has cut its teeth working on projects spanning residential, commercial (including hospitality) and interior design needs. While their early-days projects were small interventions, mostly involving recycling and renovation, they soon graduated to working on large-scale briefs. It is then that their architecture mastery began to shine forth brightly.  

Speaking to Luxury Lifestyle Awards, Guevara describes the mission of Guevara Ottonello Architects as being “to honor the principles of architectural design and ensure that we always design with passion and dedication… to create designs that communicate, innovate and transcend”. The team at Guevara Ottonello Architects holds a strong commitment to use their work to improve the quality of the built environment in Uruguay.  

On receiving the news of its Best Luxury Architect Studio in Uruguay title, Ottonello commented: “We are absolutely excited and grateful to receive this prestigious award from Luxury Lifestyle Awards. For us architecture and design is what we live and breathe; it is what inspires us and sustains us each day. As such, we are very proud to receive this award.” 

2021 has proved to be a significant year for Guevara Ottonello Architects, as it is receiving international recognition for its design work on the Don Majestic Hotel. German Design Award awarded the project a ‘Special mention for excellent architecture’, and Archmarathon Awards recognized the project for its interior design.
