Stellenbosch and Cape Town-based design group, Rumour Has It, was recently awarded an International Luxury Lifestyle Awards, Winner in the Category of Best Luxury Commercial Interior Design in South Africa, for their 360 integrated design work for Ernie Els Wines, situated in the beautiful and historic Stellenbosch Winelands.

The Luxury Lifestyle Awards (LLA) is a global association selecting, recognising, celebrating and promoting the best luxury goods and services from all over the world. The goal of the company is to connect people with the best of luxury. LLA has evaluated more than 10 000 different goods and services in 400 categories from 60 countries and assessed the results to give you a top list of the best of the best in the world. Such world-renowned brands as Chanel, Dom Perignon and Ferrari were proudly named winners. The victory brings companies status and recognition, global promotion as well as exposure to an entirely new market.

Rumour Has It offers a 360-degree, multi-disciplined Brand Architecture Design approach, which includes through-the-line Creative design.

Appointed to develop a complete core concept and Estate brand roll-out, Rumour Has It ensured that the new brand DNA was threaded through the entire establishment and its comprehensive wine experience.

The team based the new design concept on a contemporary farmhouse style, incorporating a local Botanical theme from the Helderberg area and Wine leaf design from the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon block on the Winery.  These elements formed an integral part of the new Estate brand experience and were cleverly integrated across all parts of the interior fit-out and new estate brand experience, including Marketing & MD’s offices, Wine-tasting areas, farm-to-table Restaurant, boutique Fermentation and Barrel cellar, Libraries, Chef’s table, and private Winemaker’s formal tasting area.

Ernie Els Wines reflect a holistic design approach through the innovative use of luxurious finishes and crafted joinery, natural ink-printed textiles and fabrics, commissioned artworks and wallpaper, bespoke furniture and furnishings, purpose-built light fittings and decor accessories, designer uniforms and signage, handmade crockery and artisanal menu presentations.
