Renowned Moroccan landscape architecture studio Carey Duncan Design has been named the winner of the 2025 Luxury Lifestyle Awards for Best Sustainable Landscape Architecture. The accolade recognizes the firm’s outstanding work on The Park at Casa Green Town, located in Bouskoura, Greater Casablanca.

Founded in 1994 by landscape architect Carey Duncan, the Rabat-based firm is celebrated for its pragmatic yet poetic approach to environmentally conscious design. Over the past 15 years, the studio has been closely involved in the development of Casa Green Town—from its golf course planting and resort landscaping to urban trails and residential streetscapes. The Park, a recent and central component of the masterplan, stands out as a vital social and ecological asset in the growing community.

Designed to be the “Central Park” of Casa Green Town, The Park features multifunctional gathering areas, two playgrounds, a health trail, and kiosks that support local entrepreneurship. However, its sustainability initiatives are what set it apart. In contrast to the conventional green-lawn approach prevalent in Morocco, the project reduces turf grass to less than 50% of the total surface area, cutting water use significantly while encouraging native biodiversity.

Other sustainable highlights include an on-site composting facility for garden and green waste, a solar-powered irrigation system, and the use of recycled water throughout the landscape. These thoughtful integrations elevate the project into a benchmark for sustainable public space in arid climates.
