Romania, Strategic Significance For Rolls-Royce’s Regional Development

Article prepared by our Media Partner Rhapsody Magazine

Luxury Lifestyle Awards’ Brand Ambassador Cristian Frăsin recently had the privilege of attending an event hosted by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The event was held at the British Ambassador’s residence in Romania, a stunning property situated in the heart of Bucharest.

The event was graced by the presence of notable guests including H.E. Mr. Giles Portman, British Ambassador to Bucharest, Michael Schmidt, Owner of Automobile Bavaria, Frank Tiemann, Head of Corporate Communication for Central/Eastern Europe and Central Asia at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Leonhard Georg Pfeffer, CEO of Automobile Bavaria, Cristian Bednar, Brand Manager at Rolls-Royce Authorised Service Workshop Bucharest, and Ciprian Bercea, Marketing & Digitalization Director at Automobile Bavaria, as well as members of the Romanian press.

During the event, it was revealed that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has named Automobile Bavaria as its official dealer in Romania. This appointment marks Automobile Bavaria as the first authorized Rolls-Royce dealer in the country since the brand’s inception 120 years ago. The new dealership is to be named Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bucharest.

Consequently, Romania is poised to become the third country in the Balkans, alongside the Czech Republic and Turkey, to inaugurate an official Rolls-Royce showroom, located within the Automobile Bavaria complex in Băneasa.

The attendees had the chance to appreciate the exquisite Rolls Royce Ghost, which was showcased at the event for this special occasion.

Romania’s luxury car market has recently experienced steady growth, driven by changing consumer preferences and a growing appetite for luxury. A speaker at the event highlighted Romania’s strategic significance for Rolls-Royce’s regional development, marking a new era for the company’s customers in Romania.

The very first Rolls-Royce to arrive in Romania was a Silver Ghost in 1912 before the outbreak of World War I. It was delivered to a customer in Bucharest, one Mr. Constantin Turnesco, at a price of £1,364.

The Royal House of Romania owned 4 Rolls-Royces, belonging to King Ferdinand, King Carol, Queen Mary and King Michael.
