We talked to Mr. Armen Sargsyan, the owner of A&E Millwork, about his company and the award-winning home accessories.

Luxury Lifestyle Awards: Mr. Sargsyan, can you tell us a bit about your background?

Armen Sargsyan: I was born in Armenia and came to the US in 2005. I always loved working with wood, so I decided to become my own boss.

LLA: How did the idea of creating cutting boards come about?

AS: I actually needed one! When I would go shopping for one, I noticed I never found a good-quality board, and that’s when I decided to make my own.

LLA: Your company’s main occupation is upscale residential and office remodeling. Does this business area intersect with the manufacture of home accessories?

AS: In a way it does, when you remodel a home, you also want nice new accessories to match the aesthetic of the new space.

LLA: What are the sources of inspiration for your cutting boards’ designs?

AS: I frequently get inspired for my designs from my own ideas, or things that remind me of home in Armenia. When I remodel kitchens, I constantly think of any accessories that will match the design.

LLA: What are the principles that guide you in choosing materials for the boards?

AS: Quality and durability are two of the most important things for this.

LLA: What sets A&E Millwork cutting boards apart from other cutting boards?

AS: Definitely the quality. You see it and feel it as soon as you receive one of our products, especially when compared to others.

LLA: What kinds of home accessories does A&E Millwork create besides the cutting boards?

AS: Other accessories we have include chessboards and chess pieces, wine holders, platters, and countertops, however, more will soon be available!

LLA: What are the basic principles that guide you in developing and creating your products?

AS: The main principle will always be high-quality material and consistent Craftsmanship. Our products are never hasty or done half-heartedly.

LLA: How do you combine the old-school workmanship and cutting-edge milling technology in your work?

AS: Technology can only do so much. It helps with getting things done faster, but you need a person there to make sure all the details are there and perfect.

LLA: Can customers order individual cutting boards, and what options for personalizing the items are available?

AS: Yes! We can make anything from scratch from special engraving to pieces we already have.

LLA: This year, A&E Millwork has become the winner of Luxury Lifestyle Awards. What are your emotions about this victory?

AS: We’re thrilled and excited! We work really hard, and it feels amazing to have other people recognize that as well.
