Nikken Sekkei Dubai has been recognized by Luxury Lifestyle Awards with the title of Best Luxury Residential Development Architect Visualization & Design in Dubai for Serenia District at Jumeirah Islands. The recognition highlights the company’s contribution to contemporary residential architecture through a project that combines Japanese design principles with a contextually responsive approach to urban living.
Nikken Sekkei Dubai operates as a multidisciplinary practice integrating architecture, landscape, interior design, and master planning across residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use sectors. The firm’s work reflects a balance between global expertise and local understanding, with an emphasis on spatial clarity, environmental responsiveness, and long-term architectural relevance.
For Serenia District at Jumeirah Islands, developed by Palma Development, Nikken Sekkei Dubai provided Architectural Pre-Concept Design, Concept Design, Schematic Design, and Detailed Design Review services. The development was conceived as a cohesive residential district centered around a landmark clubhouse and connected through landscape corridors, pedestrian pathways, and water features. Drawing from Japanese architectural concepts such as Ireko and Shakkei, the project introduces layered spatial experiences, integrated landscape composition, and refined environmental strategies adapted to Dubai’s climate and urban character.

The six-tower residential development incorporates deep eaves for solar shading, contextual landscaping using native and adaptive planting, and a walkable community structure designed to encourage interaction and reduce dependence on vehicular movement. At its heart, a ground-level park inspired by the principles of Japanese gardens unfolds as a sequence of spatial moments, where each route produces a different experience. Carefully orchestrated water features, planting, and shaded pathways create a layered landscape that shifts with movement. The project’s architectural language emphasizes balance, proportion, and the relationship between built form and nature, while creating a calm and enduring residential environment.
“This recognition reflects the thoughtful architectural direction and contextual sensitivity demonstrated by Nikken Sekkei Dubai through Serenia District at Jumeirah Islands by Palma Development. The project represents a considered approach to residential development, where spatial experience, environmental responsiveness, and cultural relevance are integrated into a cohesive design vision,” said Alexander Chetchikov, CEO of Luxury Lifestyle Awards and President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Luxury Lifestyle Awards. Serenia District by Palma Development was envisioned as more than a residential development – it was designed as a connected living environment shaped by architecture, landscape, and community interaction. This project reflects our commitment to creating spaces that respond thoughtfully to both people and place,” said Fadi Jabri, CEO of Nikken Sekkei Dubai.
