Luxury Lifestyle Awards sends congratulations to Jose Luis Andre (JLA) Arquitectos on his selection as Best Luxury Architect Studio in Uruguay for 2021. With over 30 years of experience conceptualizing outstanding residences that push the boundaries of creativity, this awarded-winning studio has come to be regarded as an agent of innovation and excellence.

Founded by Jose Luis Andre in 2005, JLA Arquitectos is a leading architecture studio based in Montevideo. JLA Arquitectos’ work on high-profile residences has established the studio as the go-to specialist for Uruguay’s wealthy, who trust Andre and his team to design distinct, one-of-a-kind homes unlike any others. JLA Arquitectos’ clientele spans the length and breadth of Uruguay, and their work can be found in Montevideo, Punta del Este, José Ignacio and elsewhere.

Prior to opening JLA Arquitectos, Andre worked at highly regarded studios such as Carlos Ott Architect, where he gained valuable international experience. During this period Andre worked on several large-scale projects – airports, high-rise commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, residential housing estates etc. – in Asia (China), Europe (Germany, Spain), the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE) and his native South America (Argentina, Chile).

This array of experience has helped Andre become the versatile designer that he is today, as it clearly reflects in his work. “I have always been very careful with the subject, covering different styles and always respecting and taking into account the requirements of the clients. For me, it is key to achieve real excellence in the projects we undertake,” he says.

While residential projects are where JLA Arquitectos has found much of their success, the studio is available for preliminary projects, construction management and investment advice.

In 2014 and 2015, two JLA Arquitectos projects were awarded ‘Best Individual Architecture Residence’ by the international Property Awards. The studio has also been conferred awards by the Central & South America Property Awards Architecture (‘Best Architecture Single Residence Uruguay’).

Furthermore, JLA Arquitectos has had its work featured in several publications, including the prestigious Casas de Campo del Uruguay, Arquitectura and Casas en Punta Del Este. This can be seen as an indication of the quality of work produced by team and the effort they put into projects.
