Michelle Fox Interiors has been recognized by Luxury Lifestyle Awards in the category Best Luxury Residential Renovation Interior Design for Cork Countryside Home of Color, Ireland, highlighting a residential transformation defined by confident use of color, pattern, bespoke detailing, and practical design shaped around the daily life of a family of six.

Founded in 2022 by Founder and Interior Designer Michelle Fox, the Cork-based studio specializes in residential interiors with a strong emphasis on individuality. Its approach moves away from conventional neutral schemes in favor of layered, characterful environments where elegance, practicality, and personal expression are considered together. Each project is developed around the people who live in the space, with color, pattern, texture, and detailing used to create a clear sense of identity.

Cork Countryside Home of Color is a completed renovation of a detached family residence in Cork, Ireland. The clients had lived in the property for approximately 12 years, during which the downstairs interiors had remained largely neutral and no longer reflected the family’s needs or personality. The brief called for a warmer and more distinctive home, with improved furniture layouts, generous storage, bespoke joinery, and a stronger visual connection between the entrance and the adjoining living spaces.

The entrance became a defining part of the design. Its unusual hexagonal configuration and multiple doorways presented a challenge in creating impact without overwhelming the architecture. Michelle Fox Interiors responded with a geometric tiled floor laid in an octagonal pattern, complemented by brass detailing at the transition to warm honey-toned engineered oak flooring. Beneath the stairs, previously underused space was transformed into built-in cabinetry with full-height cupboards and deep drawers, combining practical storage with traditional detailing and brass hardware.

In the formal living room, a statement yellow sofa informed a richer palette of deep teal, mustard yellow, blush pink, warm timber, and patterned textiles. Curved forms in the furniture and lighting respond to the room’s architecture, while the wider open-plan and family living areas bring together florals, checks, antique pieces, natural materials, and layered textures. The result is a cohesive interior that uses color confidently while maintaining balance, functionality, and a strong connection to the family’s way of living.

The renovation was completed between January and May 2026 and was planned around a defined family deadline. A delay in the availability of the selected geometric floor tiles required careful coordination of sourcing and installation, while the wider scheme was developed with longevity in mind through durable materials, practical storage, bespoke joinery, and design choices intended to support the home’s continued use as the family’s primary residence.

Honoring the recognition, Alexander Chetchikov, President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce, said: “Michelle Fox Interiors demonstrates how residential luxury can be expressed through individuality, thoughtful planning, and a confident use of color. Cork Countryside Home of Color shows that a family home can be highly personal and visually distinctive while remaining practical, cohesive, and relevant to everyday life. This recognition reflects a design approach where character and function are considered with equal care.”
