Heidi Gubbins Interior Design has been named winner of the Luxury Lifestyle Awards for Best Luxury Spa Interior Design for Ashiana by Boho Club in Marbella, Spain. The award recognizes the studio’s exceptional approach to reviving two 1960s Andalusian-style houses into a luxurious spa destination.

Formerly part of the Centro Forestal Sueco, a Swedish retreat rooted in nature, the property was transformed into Boho Club after its acquisition by Quartiers Properties. The Ashiana project involved designing a tranquil wellness retreat within this vibrant hotel setting—uniting history, innovation, and experiential design.

Heidi Gubbins and her team collaborated closely with wellness expert Kezia Kaur to capture the essence of the Ashiana concept, translating its spirit and intention into every facet of the design. The project brought with it significant technical challenges, including intricate Japanning-style finishes that required multiple layers of polish and extended drying times. Every design detail and finish was executed with meticulous precision within the heritage setting. Working in close coordination with the construction team, the work was structured in carefully planned phases to ensure minimal disruption to guests throughout the process.
