Engagement Ring Trends to Watch Out For

Wedding specialists, The Knot, have identified “personalization” as one of the hottest trends to hit the industry in recent years. Factors such as the current global health crisis, the postponement of weddings in the year 2020 and 2021, and the fact that wedding celebrants are as young as Gen Z-aged, point to personalization as a key value. Younger generations wish to blend the best of tradition and meaning, with everything from their proposals right through to their fashion, receptions, and jewelry, expressing who they are. If you are in search of the perfect designer ring for your future fiancée, let the following luxurious trends inspire you.

Stacked Rings

Many brides and grooms are opting to sport stackable engagement and wedding rings in lieu of traditional solitaries or halos. The aim is to wear meaningful luxury pieces made with VS1 or VS2 diamonds and quality gold or platinum materials, that are as fashionable as they are symbolic. From delicate pave bands to eternity-style rings with Asscher cut diamonds, stackable rings never go out of style and make a perfect complement to solitaires and other classic cuts.

Classic Rings with a Twist

Traditional styles such as princess- and emerald-cut solitaires never go out of style. Nor do halos and cathedral rings. However, designers are adding curves and twists to add a little more sparkle to classic wedding ring styles. Think twisted diamond bands interwoven into the fabric of the engagement band to form a romantic infinity shape, or a halo ring comprising twisted pave bands. It’s all about adding more bling to timeless ring designs and embracing the curves and shapes found in nature.

Colored Gemstones

The penchant for personalization also means that many couples are replacing diamonds with colored gemstones for the central piece in their design. Top picks include emeralds, pink or green sapphires, tsavorites (the less flawed version of emeralds), and tanzanites. The latter is actually a top choice among current investors because tanzanites are exclusively mined from one small mine in Tanzania. Experts predict that the supply of this dark blue/violet stone will run out in a maximum of two decades, which will undoubtedly cause its price to soar.

In the past, most celebrants pretty much knew what their engagement ring would look like. It would probably be transparent and feature a central diamond bearing a princess cut or similar. Today, engagement rings are all about meaning and personalization. The aim is to give your loved one a design that matches their style and personal taste. From twisted bands to colored gemstones, there is a wide array of possible choices for lovers of luxurious, flawless diamonds, pearls, and gemstones.
