Jutta Hoehn – JSH Algarve Arquitectura Lda has been recognized by Luxury Lifestyle Awards as the winner of Best Contemporary Villa Architecture in Portugal for the project Villa Vale do Lobo in 2026.

Founded in 2004 and led by Architect and Director Jutta Susanne Hoehn, the practice specializes in high-end residential architecture and interior architecture. Based in Almancil, Portugal, the firm focuses on bespoke homes defined by architectural clarity, material integrity, and a considered response to context and client lifestyle. International experience in Germany, including work on historic buildings and hospitality projects, continues to inform the studio’s professional standards and design methodology.

Villa Vale do Lobo, located in the resort of Vale do Lobo in the Algarve, was conceived as a contemporary family retreat. Designed for clients relocating from Switzerland, the five-bedroom residence integrates indoor and outdoor leisure areas, including a gym, cinema, TV room, generous kitchen, and outdoor kitchen tailored for family living and entertaining. Organized around a central pool, the inward-looking layout establishes privacy while creating strong visual and physical connections between interior and exterior spaces.

The architectural language combines travertine and timber with expansive glazing to enhance natural light and passive cooling. Distinctive elements include a gym positioned at the pool’s edge, Japanese-inspired interior gardens, a double-height living area with full-height electric sliding windows, and oversized timber shutters that provide privacy while reinforcing the home’s architectural identity. Renewable energy systems, including solar energy and high-efficiency heat pumps, support long-term energy performance. The company provided architecture, interior architecture, tender management, and project management services for the project.
