Bringing a forgotten basement back to life with flair, finesse, and a touch of Rat Pack nostalgia, Às Riscas – Interior Design has earned top honors for their bold reinvention of an unloved space into a glamorous haven of mid-century sophistication known as “Rat Pack Games Room.” Celebrated as the Best Luxury Interior Design for a Special Project in Portugal, this standout creation captured the spotlight for its creative fusion of retro charm and modern elegance—an achievement now officially recognized by Luxury Lifestyle Awards.

The project, situated in a high-end rental villa in Vale do Lobo, Algarve, showcases Às Riscas’ expertise in reimagining spaces to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. By converting a lifeless basement into a vibrant social hub, the firm has significantly elevated the property’s allure, particularly during the off-season.

Key design elements include rich walnut wood paneling, plush velvet furnishings in deep jewel tones, and black-and-white vinyl flooring that evokes a classic 1950s ambiance. The space features a custom-designed bar, period-style high stools, a renovated pool table, and a state-of-the-art sound system, creating an inviting environment for both adults and children.

Cláudia Contreiras Costa, who transitioned from a career in sciences to pursue her passion for interior design, established Às Riscas in 2022. Since then, she has led a multidisciplinary team in creating personalized, functional, and aesthetically harmonious spaces for residential, commercial, and accommodation projects.
