Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences, owned by Coastline Hotels, is one of the largest luxury resort islands (27 hectares) in the Maldives, perfectly nestled in the pristine Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The authentic getaway has been chosen by Luxury Lifestyle Awards with a coveted award in the category Best Luxury Island Resort in Baa Atoll, Maldives, 2023.
The island was opened in 2014 as an independent 5-Star Luxury retreat owned by Maldivians. It was founded by experienced hoteliers who desired to create a naturally lush private island paradise. The island scape features far fewer villas and residences, which translates to idyllic, untouched scenery and more space to play, relax and explore. The retreat has only 67 villas, which provide a private and intimate stay for their valued guests. More than 70% of the island remains a naturally lush paradise, interwoven with verdant walking trails and white sand beaches unspoiled by construction.
Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences goes above and beyond in creating memorable experiences for the guests, by adhering to its 5 pillars – quality, attention to detail, authenticity, uniqueness, and empathy. Once guests arrive on the island after a short 30-minute sea-plane ride, they are welcomed by resort management and the guests’ private butler, who introduce them to their haven.
Focusing on personalization, Amilla Maldives is the only resort in the Maldives with special vegan, Keto, paleo, and dairy-free menus. They also provide more amenities and activities than any of the neighboring resorts, making them a first-choice holiday destination for guests. These include spacious, multiple-bedroom villas, organic gardens which supply vegetables and herbs to the restaurant, naturally lush untouched green areas, and a multi-lingual staff. Activities include live entertainers, water sports, and land sports such as tennis and beach volleyball, and there are bicycles available for use by all guests. The hotel also offers various different classes. Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences prides itself on being a sustainable resort, utilizing solar energy.
“Thank you to the team at Luxury Lifestyle Awards, we really feel so honored to have been selected for this award! The way we define luxury is feeling recognized, special, and valued, and that is what we strive to bring to every guest’s experience. We make every effort to remain up to date with trends in our industry, in order to attract repeat clients as well as new ones”, says the Hotel General Manager Jason Kruse.
