Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay – Living for Tomorrow, Today

Situated along the sparkling waters of Thailand’s west shore, Phuket is its biggest and arguably its most popular island. Covered in mountains and rainforest, and surrounded by white-sand beaches strewn with palm trees, Phuket places among the best beach destinations in the world. Located on a cliff’s edge, affording stunning views of the Andaman Sea, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is a luxury 5-star resort that distinguishes itself among approximately 1800 resorts and hotels on the island. This is due, in part, to its unique location, high-end luxury offerings, and beautiful design, but also because of its commitment to sustainability. Because of its green initiatives, the panel of experts at Luxury Lifestyle Awards has identified the resort as refreshingly unique and has selected Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay as a winner of the International Sustainability Award 2023.

Because of its location amid the pristine landscape, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay epitomizes modern serenity. Mere minutes from Phuket’s tourist attractions, the resort remains secluded enough to maintain a sense of exclusivity and seclusion – the sort of privacy that the discerning guest would expect from a high-end vacation stay.

At the helm of Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay’s operation is its green movement, with many measures put into place to foster sustainability. Special aerators have been installed in sink taps, reducing water consumption by 60%. This is especially helpful during Thailand’s drought season. Recycling is incentivized among team members by using the money from seeking recycled items to upgrade the employee cafeteria. The resort’s signature drink is the pineapple-infused Bamboo Booster, served in bamboo cups. Upon arrival, guests benefit from downloading the resort’s  HandiGo app, a replacement for all menus and guides, removing the necessity to print brochures with every update. Plastic room keys have been replaced with wooden ones, while as many resort decorations are made from natural ingredients and seasonal products as possible.

The resort’s modern design takes care to reflect the essence of Thailand through its modern Asian-inspired decor. There are 194 guest rooms, suites, and villas offering different tiers of luxury and accommodating families, friends, and couples alike. Deluxe Twin Rooms and Deluxe King Rooms include private balconies overlooking the Andaman Sea. Pool Villas and Pool Suites take private luxury to the next level, with balconies opening up to private pools that seem to blend into the horizon. Floor-to-ceiling windows welcome natural light into the warmly lit, wooden-floored rooms, while simultaneously providing unobstructed views of the unspoiled mountainous surroundings.

Putting a unique spin on room service, Pool Suites and Villas have the option of ordering their signature floating breakfasts, with Asian, American, or Continental breakfasts served on trays that appear heavy – rather sturdy – but very literally float in your own private pool

While Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay provides guests with the level of comfort and luxury that might tempt them never to leave their accommodation, various dining options and high-end amenities make exploring the rest of the resort well worth it.

Indulge in luxury skin and body experiences at the Spa & Wellness Center or exfoliate in the Sauna or steam room. Below the spa, guests can blow off some steam with a holiday workout at the resort gym, which is located near the main pool – here, guests can swim laps, an alternative to floating in their private terrace pools. A more scenic pool option yet is The Deck infinity pool, overlooking the sea, where guests can also indulge in refreshing cocktails at the Deck Bar – one of two bars – as they soak up some sun.

For the culinary inclined, Latitude 98 is the Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay’s main restaurant, with a wrap-around balcony for additional outdoor seating. From their virtually endless breakfast buffet to their fine-dining dinners, the menu boasts a satisfyingly sumptuous selection of both western and eastern dishes that cater to vegetarians, meat lovers, and seafood enthusiasts especially.

Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is the ultimate in luxury vacationing with a conscience.
