The project site, characterized by steep terrain and a prime oceanfront location, posed both design opportunities and challenges. Rather than resist the natural slope, the design takes full advantage of it, organizing the home across three levels. Living spaces are strategically placed on the south side to maximize exposure to the sun and sea, while the more private areas—such as circulation zones and entrances—are positioned to the north.

This distribution results in a dynamic spatial flow that enhances both usability and visual impact. Wide terraces and open volumes expand the living experience outward, offering uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean from virtually every room.

A Tale of Two Façades

Villa Fortaleza offers contrasting expressions on its northern and southern faces. The north elevation is discreet, characterized by a compact form, minimal openings, and a clean architectural language. It preserves privacy and aligns with the built environment nearby.

On the south side, the design opens up dramatically. Angular planes, layered terraces, and extensive glazing give the villa a powerful sense of movement and scale.
