Villa Finder Achieves B Corp Certification: A Milestone in Purpose-Driven Travel

We’re incredibly excited to share that Villa Finder is officially a Certified B Corporation—joining a global movement of companies using business as a force for good. With an overall B Impact Score of 80.9, this recognition is a meaningful step in our mission to make travel more thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable.

Since 2012, we’ve helped thousands of families and friends experience the joy of villa holidays across Asia-Pacific and beyond. Becoming a B Corp reflects what we’ve always believed: doing good and delivering great holidays go hand in hand.

“We’ve always believed that great holidays and responsible business can go hand in hand,” said Daniel Rouquette, CEO of Villa Finder. “Becoming B Corp certified is a reminder that we’re on the right path—and a challenge to keep going, keep improving, and keep showing what travel can achieve when it’s done with heart.”

We didn’t set out to become a B Corp for the label, we did it because we want every part of our business to reflect our values: care, competency, reliability, and sincerity. This certification holds us to that promise and helps to do even more to support our planet, our partners, and our people.

Where We’re Making an Impact

During our B Corp certification process, we were proud to score especially well in three areas that matter deeply to us: Governance, Community, and the Environment.

  • Governance

From how we make decisions to how we define success, we’ve built our operations around long-term impact rather than short-term gain. Transparency, ethics, and accountability are part of how we operate—both with our partners and within our team.

We also take great care in how we support the people who make Villa Finder what it is. This means fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and able to grow.

Our approach to employee well-being—whether it’s creating space for balance, offering stability, or investing in growth—earned us the highest score in our certification. But for us, it’s never been about checking boxes. Taking care of our team is simply how we work. It’s what keeps us grounded, motivated, and moving in the right direction.

  • Community

We’ve focused on supporting the communities that make our destinations so special, and we’re just as committed today as we were when we started. Our villa owners, service providers, and local suppliers aren’t just business contacts; they’re people we care about and grow with.

This commitment extends to the broader communities we’re part of—across Bali, Phuket, and every destination we serve—where we aim to create lasting, people-first impact by supporting livelihoods, celebrating local culture, and helping tourism become a true force for good.

That spirit of care and connection lives in our team, too. As of July 2025, Villa Finder team members have contributed more than 100 hours of voluntary work this year—and counting. It’s something our people choose to do because they care. And together, hour by hour, we’re building something bigger than ourselves: a culture that gives back, shows up, and stays rooted in the communities that welcome us.

We also know that supporting communities means reflecting them as well. Our team brings together people from different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life—and we’re better for it.

We hire inclusively, we listen actively, and we build a culture where individuality is respected and real connection is encouraged. It’s not just good for the team—it helps us better understand and serve the communities we’re part of.

  • Environment

Our heartfelt promise to the planet is shown through 1% for the Planet, where we donate 1% of our revenue to support meaningful environmental efforts that help protect and heal the Earth.

Alongside that, we plant a tree for every booking and work closely with villa owners to help them adopt more sustainable practices. It’s all part of our ongoing effort to make holidays not just memorable, but more planet-friendly. And we’re just getting started.

Why B Corp, Why Now?

The world has changed—and so have the expectations around travel. More than ever, people want their holidays to be meaningful, low-impact, and socially conscious. For us, getting certified was a way to hold ourselves accountable and ensure that we’re not just offering beautiful villas, but also doing right by the places and people who make these holidays possible.

We started this journey over a year ago, inspired by the B Corp standards and what they represent,” Daniel added. “It pushed us to take a hard look at how we work and where we could do better. Like any meaningful change, it began with a small step—but that step set us on a path we’re really proud to be on.

B Corp Certification gave us the framework to look inward, hold ourselves to higher standards, and align our day-to-day operations with the kind of future we want to build.

What B Corp Means in Practice

Being a B Corp means showing up every day for the people and places that make travel possible. Here are just a few ways we’re putting that into action:

  • 1 Booking = 1 Tree Planted: To date, we’ve helped plant over 26,000 trees across Sumatra, Java, and Bali, working closely with partners like ReforestAction, Yagasu, and the Segara Ayu Fisheries Community. Our efforts have focused especially on restoring vital mangrove ecosystems.
  • 1% of Revenue for Education & Sustainability: We dedicate 1% of our annual revenue to support villa owners with training, sustainable tools, and local impact initiatives.
  • Community First: We choose to work with local, family-run businesses whenever possible—whether it’s drivers, chefs, or activity providers. It’s our way of ensuring that tourism gives back to the communities that host us.
  • People Matter: Behind the scenes, we prioritize flexibility, open communication, and professional growth. We support each other so we can better support our guests.

We’re incredibly proud of this milestone. But more than that, we’re grateful—to our team, our villa partners, and our travelers, who’ve believed in our mission and helped shape the company we are today.
