Empowering Youth Through Design: Valika Interior Design’s Impactful Vision for Jordan Youth Hub

Valika Interior Design

Valika Interior Design has earned international recognition after being named the winner of the Luxury Lifestyle Awards in the category of Best Luxury Public Services Architecture for Jordan Youth Hub in Jordan. This standout achievement reflects the company’s ability to create future-forward, socially driven spaces that meet both architectural innovation and real community needs.

Valika Interior Design was entrusted with a bold brief by the Arab Youth Center: design and oversee a youth-oriented hub in Amman that’s not only functional but inspirational. Set within the green expanse of King Abdullah II Park, the new-build, two-story facility spans approximately 4,000 sqm and is more than just a building; it is a living system for engagement, collaboration, and innovation, designed entirely with youth in mind.

Jordan Youth Hub

Designed with Youth, for Youth

What sets the Jordan Youth Hub apart is its participatory design approach. Valika prioritized a collaborative process, conducting focus groups with Jordanian youth to inform spatial planning and programmatic priorities. The result is a space shaped by those who use it, fostering a sense of ownership and relevance that traditional civic buildings often miss.

The building supports a multitude of uses, from open-plan co-working areas and tech-integrated meeting rooms to a digital media studio, maker labs, and a multipurpose theatre. Every square meter is optimized for versatility, reflecting the flexible, hybrid way young people interact with their environments today.

Flexibility Meets Function

One of the standout features of the project is its hyper-flexible spatial zoning. Intelligent partitions and modular furniture systems allow spaces to be reconfigured instantly to support workshops, exhibitions, seminars, or private meetings. This elasticity ensures the building remains responsive to evolving community needs, day by day and year by year.

Public, semi-private, and private areas are thoughtfully arranged to promote fluid movement while maintaining spatial clarity. The open co-working area encourages idea-sharing, while more focused zones, such as the research library or startup incubator pods, cater to quieter, concentrated work.

Sustainable by Design

Environmental responsibility was a guiding principle throughout the project. The team integrated passive design strategies to maximize natural lighting and cross-ventilation, reducing the building’s dependence on artificial climate control. Plans for solar roof panels, low-energy lighting, and efficient drainage systems reflect a systems-level approach to sustainability.

Landscaping plays a significant role as well. Hard surfaces were minimized in favor of permeable materials, and outdoor shaded areas extend the usability of the space beyond its walls. These decisions are not only ecological but create natural extensions of interior areas, enhancing user experience while staying rooted in the site’s parkland setting.

A Regional Leader with a Global Footprint

While based in the UAE, Valika’s influence spans well beyond its borders. In recent years, the studio has delivered key public-sector projects in Uzbekistan, Serbia, and Jordan. From innovation hubs for the Prime Minister’s Office in Tashkent to digital service centers in Belgrade, Valika demonstrates an ability to translate national strategies into tangible, human-centered environments.

Bridging Creativity and Engineering

Valika’s full-service offering made them uniquely suited to deliver the Jordan Youth Hub. From architectural schematics to FF&E consultancy, landscape integration to MEP and IT systems coordination, every detail was shaped in-house. The team also managed on-site supervision, permitting, and construction phase inspections—ensuring design integrity from concept to completion.

Advanced technologies were deeply integrated into the fabric of the project. Smart AV systems, digital signage, collaborative screens, and secure surveillance were not afterthoughts but planned into the original vision. The emphasis on innovation goes hand-in-hand with the facility’s mission to foster ideation and youth empowerment.

Valika Interior Design

Civic Architecture with Social Purpose

At its core, the Jordan Youth Hub is more than a facility, it’s a platform. One designed not to impress from afar, but to serve on the ground. It supports youth-led initiatives, entrepreneurship, creativity, and inclusion in a country where such spaces are urgently needed.
