Warsaw, June, 2024: Poland’s Greatest Philanthropic Event: Unique Artworks and Great Emotions – TOP CHARITY 2024 concluded with a spectacular result of $11.5M, which makes it the biggest charity event in Europe. For the third time, organizers Omenaa Mensah and Rafał Brzoska united the most prominent figures from the worlds of business, art, and showbiz around the idea of helping others in the courtyard of King Jan III Sobieski’s Palace in Wilanow, Warsaw, Poland.

The auction featured masterpieces from iconic artists like Magdalena Abakanowicz, Wojciech Fangor, Wojciech Siudmak, Alessandro La Spada, alongside works from emerging talents. The highest-bid artwork was the sculpture Torso alato, 1985 by Igor Mitoraj, for which the buyers and dedicated philanthropists paid $1.7M. The auction’s flawless execution was ensured by Polswiss Art Auction House and EY Poland. 

A standout moment in the Great Emotions category was the fierce bidding for a unique fashion experience from Dolce & Gabbana. For the first time, the luxury fashion house offered a bespoke gown from their iconic Alta Moda collection, promising an unparalleled sartorial adventure for the winning bidder. A special treat for art collectors and fashion connoisseurs was the auction of a limited edition handbag from the Artycapucines Louis Vuitton × Ewa Juszkiewicz collection, for which the lucky winner paid nearly $100,000. Sports enthusiasts could also find exceptional experiences for themselves, among them an exciting tennis match and a shared lunch in Majorca with Rafael Nadal, the outstanding Spanish tennis player, or a cruise in Dubai on the first electric catamaran offered by Sunreef Yachts. The auction winners paid approximately $205,000 in total for both exciting adventures.

The art auction and the Great Emotions, concluded with a result of 5.5 million USD, which was traditionally doubled for the third consecutive time by the host of the evening, Rafal Brzoska, from his personal assets. 

Among the distinguished guests gracing the occasion was Mark Brzezinski the Ambassador of the United States to Poland, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to  

Poland Akio Miyajima, Phyllis Newhouse, the visionary founder of ShoulderUp, a globally recognized nonprofit dedicated to empowering women on their entrepreneurial odyssey, she was the first woman to win an Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur Of The Year® award in the technology category. 

The gathering saw the convergence of an exclusive roster of luminaries, each lending their unwavering support to the noble cause championed by the organizers. Among notable figures the gala attended Anja Rubik, one of the most prominent models of the 20th and 21st century, actor Borys Szyc, renowned for his captivating performances in Cold War, a movie that has been honored with six awards at the Cannes Film Festival and with three Oscar nominations, actor Rafał Zawierucha who in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, portrayed the character of Roman Polanski. 

Adding an unparalleled essence of elegance to the affair was the presence of esteemed fashion designer Dedrick Thomas, whose illustrious reputation illuminated the event with an undeniable aura of glamour.

Hosts Omenaa Mensah and Rafał Brzoska expressed their gratitude, highlighting the growing philanthropic spirit within the business community in Poland. Every guest at the gala contributes to significant social change, not only invigorating the economy and creating jobs but also sharing their wealth responsibly, remarked Omenaa Mensah, president of the Omenaa Foundation.

Great Charity Auction TOP CHARITY is a recurring, highly prestigious, and paramount philanthropic event in Poland. It electrifies and unites the attention of the business world, art enthusiasts, and philanthropists around noble causes. This year, the gala takes place for the third time at the King Jan III Sobieski Palace in Wilanow. Thus far, in previous editions, a total of nearly $10M has been raised. The funds are annually allocated to the activities of the Omenaa Foundation and the Rafał Brzoska Foundation, focusing on supporting the development of talents and educational needs of children in care and educational institutions throughout Poland, street children of Ghana, and organizations providing psychological assistance to refugee women with children from Ukraine.

Omenaa Foundation is one of the most active and significant charitable and educational organizations in Poland. She supports the development of youth, particularly those in care and educational institutions, fostering lasting change. Omenaa is deeply committed to aiding  street children in Ghana. She has established The Kids’ Haven School, a safe haven and educational facility. Last year, $150,000 was allocated for its modernization. Immediately following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, she donated over $750,000 to aid refugees. Together with her husband, Rafał Brzoska, they organized the largest private humanitarian aid transport for civilians from eastern Ukraine. For refugee women with children, she arranged assistance in Poland, providing essential psychological and educational support.
