An Exclusive Interview – Anjelica Garcia on Intimate Luxury

Anjelica Garcia, General Manager behind Sallymount House, leads a private boutique estate in Western Ireland recognized by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards as the recipient of Best Luxury Wedding Venue in Western Ireland. In conversation with Alexander Chetchikov, President of the World Luxury Chamber of Commerce, she shares her perspective on personalization, private hospitality, and the evolving expectations of luxury guests.

Alexander Chetchikov: How do you define luxury within the context of a private estate such as Sallymount House?

Anjelica Garcia: Luxury at Sallymount House is defined by privacy, freedom, and the ability to feel completely at home while being quietly taken care of in every detail. Our estate is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. Unlike traditional hotels, there are no shared spaces, no outside guests, and no interruptions. It is a private world where everything revolves around you and your group. For many of our guests, particularly those with high-profile lifestyles, this level of discretion is invaluable. They can relax, celebrate, and enjoy time together in a setting that feels both luxurious and deeply personal, without compromise.

AC: What role does personalization play in shaping the guest experience at your property?

Anjelica Garcia: Personalization is at the heart of everything we do. No two stays or celebrations are ever the same. From the moment a guest connects with us, we begin shaping an experience around their preferences, their pace, and their vision. Whether it is designing bespoke menus with our private chef, curating a wine selection for their group, or planning day trips that reflect their interests, every detail is considered. Our goal is not to offer a service, but to create a feeling that this is your home, your time, and your experience.

AC: Sallymount House operates as an exclusive-use venue. How does this model influence the way you design weddings and guest stays?

Anjelica Garcia: The exclusive-use model changes everything. It allows us to design each wedding or stay without restriction. There are no timelines imposed by other guests, no competing events, and no limitations on how the space can be used. Couples and families can truly make the house their own. Whether it’s an intimate wedding, a multi-day celebration, or a private retreat, the experience unfolds naturally and authentically. It creates a sense of ease and connection that simply isn’t possible in a traditional venue.

AC: Your approach emphasizes curated experiences. How do you ensure each event reflects the individual vision of your clients?

Anjelica Garcia: We listen carefully and build everything around the client’s vision. Some guests arrive with a very clear idea, others are looking for guidance. In both cases, we work closely with them to shape something that feels entirely their own. This might include transforming spaces within the house, creating immersive dining experiences, or arranging live music and entertainment that reflects their personality. We adapt the house and the experience to them, not the other way around.

AC: The property combines accommodation, entertainment spaces, and tailored services. How do these elements work together to create a cohesive experience?

Anjelica Garcia: Sallymount House is designed to flow naturally as a living, breathing space. Guests might begin their day with a relaxed breakfast, head out with our driver to explore Ireland’s hidden gems, and return in the evening to a warm, welcoming home. In the colder months, the fire is lit and the house feels incredibly cosy. Our driver coordinates with the kitchen so that dinner is ready exactly when guests return. Evenings can unfold in many ways, perhaps a quiet moment in the library, a film in the cinema room, or live traditional music in the bar area. It is this seamless movement between experiences that creates something truly special.

AC: How do you approach consistency in service while maintaining a highly individualized offering?

Anjelica Garcia: Consistency comes from our attention to detail and our dedicated team, but the experience itself is always tailored. We know our guests value both reliability and flexibility. Our team works intuitively, anticipating needs while allowing guests complete freedom. It’s about striking the balance between being present and being invisible when needed.

AC: What trends are you observing in the expectations of luxury wedding and private event clients today?

Anjelica Garcia: There is a clear shift toward intimacy, privacy, and meaningful experiences. Guests are moving away from large, impersonal events and looking instead for something more curated and authentic. They want time together, memorable moments, and experiences that feel unique. Multi-day celebrations, private dining, immersive activities, and destination-style stays are becoming increasingly important.

AC: Looking ahead, how do you see Sallymount House evolving within the international luxury hospitality landscape?

Anjelica Garcia: We see Sallymount House continuing to evolve as a destination for those seeking something truly personal and private. Our focus will always remain on bespoke experiences, discretion, and creating unforgettable stays. We are fortunate to be able to offer not just a property, but a way of experiencing Ireland, from private golf outings at world-class courses to magical coastal day trips, all curated around the guest. Ultimately, our aim is simple: whatever our guests imagine, we make it happen.

Through a focused approach to private hospitality, Anjelica Garcia positions Sallymount House as a destination defined by discretion, personalization, and clarity of experience. Her perspective reflects a broader shift within the luxury sector toward tailored, privately controlled environments that prioritize individual preference over standardized offerings.
