Montreal, QC— RENOIR, the signature French restaurant at the prestigious Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile, has reopened its doors, unveiling a stunning transformation. More than a renovation, this complete makeover invites guests to embark on a culinary journey where French artistry meets the finest local flavours. With newly designed areas, including an elegant sunroom and an intimate chef’s table, RENOIR invites you to rediscover the essence of redefined dining in an inspiring setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week and its legendary Sunday brunch.
An institution of the Montreal epicurean scene for the last 22 years, RENOIR has long been revered for its fine French cuisine that infuses local farm-to-table ingredients with international flavours to tell the story of Montreal’s vibrant culture. True to its name, the restaurant prides itself on merging the visual and culinary arts, crafting each dish as a masterpiece that delights both the eye and the palate. Now, RENOIR enhances its dining experience with an enhanced menu and stunningly redesigned interior that harmonizes tradition and innovation from France and Quebec. Guests are invited to savour their meals in a beautiful sunroom awash in sunlight, in an intimate and sumptuous central room featuring a mirrored ceiling or at the unique chef’s table offering a front-row view of the kitchen, all reflecting Renoir’s unwavering commitment to elevating its culinary experience through a new, unique, and inviting space.
Led by Executive Chef Olivier Perret—Maître Cuisinier de France, ‘Ambassadeur de l’Érable,’ and Air France Canadian Signature Chef since 2023—the reimagined RENOIR continues to offer the refined French cuisine and Quebec flair for which it has long been celebrated, now with a modern twist. Chef Perret’s passion for locally grown, seasonal ingredients shapes his approach, creating a harmonious blend of French gastronomy and the authentic flavours of Quebec. The refreshed menu features beloved classics, including the Foie Gras Torchon with house- made brioche and the Salmon Gravlax with caviar, alongside new creations such as Homemade Cavatelli with smoked artichoke, Truffle Risotto with porcini mushrooms and a Veal Shoulder gratin with morel mushrooms and local cheese. In addition to these incredible dishes, guests are also invited to sample exquisite desserts crafted by Pastry Chef Paul Peyrat. The RENOIR team is also thrilled to bring back its iconic Sunday brunch, a refined buffet- style experience where guests are treated to a lavish spread of fine cuisine while soaking in the elegance of the newly renovated space and its charming terrace, available from May to August.
“After more than 11 incredible years at RENOIR, I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter, bringing Montrealers and travellers an elevated dining experience infused with modern elegance. RENOIR has always celebrated the authenticity of French gastronomy, beautifully intertwined with the rich flavours of Québec. With every dish, I remain committed to showcasing the finest local producers and terroir ingredients while honouring timeless French culinary traditions, and I can’t wait to share this transformation with our guests!” says Executive Chef Olivier Perret.
Alongside gourmet dishes, guests can also delight in RENOIR’s refreshed interior and spaces. Designed in collaboration with the local award-winning firm 2pir Design, the restaurant blends opulence and intimacy, with a warm palette of champagne, bronze, turquoise, and burnt orange creating a rich, transportive atmosphere. Luxury surfaces, hand-painted wallpaper, and marble tabletops add depth, while shades of blue honor the cultural link between France and Quebec. The play of light and shadow evokes the beauty of a French Impressionist painting, offering guests a unique experience that blends Parisian charm with Montreal’s joie de vivre.
The reopening of RENOIR heralds an inspiring new chapter where classic elegance blends seamlessly with modern creativity. From exquisite dining to the much-anticipated return of its legendary Sunday brunch, RENOIR is a go-to destination for exceptional experiences. Chef Olivier Perret and his team are excited to welcome guests back.
