Claire Dominics Buro Opens a New Creative Space in Dubai

Opening a new studio is always a milestone. Creating one that feels lived-in from the first moment — somewhere between a studio, a gallery, and a place to sit, talk, and stay — is something else entirely.

With its new Dubai creative space, Claire Dominics Buro moves away from the idea of an office altogether. The space has been conceived as an environment to experience design, not just discuss it — marking five years of the group’s presence in the UAE, and a natural evolution of its work in the region.

At its core, the studio is built on contrast. Raw, urban materials — exposed concrete, blackened brick, steel — form a strong, almost architectural shell. Against this, softer layers unfold: plush textiles, warm timber, bespoke joinery, and carefully composed lighting. Black and white anchor the space, but nothing feels stark. The transitions are deliberate, almost quiet, allowing the contrasts to settle into balance rather than opposition.

The result is not a showroom, but something closer to a composition. The studio itself reads as a design object — where every element, from the scale of the shelving to the tactility of fabrics and the glow of integrated lighting, is part of a continuous narrative. It is a place that reflects how the studio works: through layering, refinement, and control rather than excess.

Running through the space is a strong sense of hospitality. Visitors are not received formally, but welcomed — invited to sit, to move through the space, to engage with materials, books, and objects in a way that feels natural rather than staged. Conversations unfold around a central table, within a setting that is intentionally relaxed but highly considered.

A dedicated art gallery forms an integral part of the studio. Rather than being separated, it is woven into the spatial experience — allowing art to exist as part of daily life within the studio. This reflects a long-standing approach within Claire Dominics Buro’s work, where art is never treated as an accessory, but as a fundamental layer of a project’s identity. Pieces are curated or developed in dialogue with the space, adding depth, tension, and cultural context. Within the studio, the gallery becomes both a source of inspiration and a way to communicate how art and interior architecture can exist in direct conversation.

The library and material archive extend this idea further. One side holds a growing collection of architectural and design books gathered over years of work across different regions. The other presents materials — stone, wood, textiles, metals — not as samples, but as elements to be handled, compared, and understood. Together, they form a working landscape of references, where ideas are tested and refined.

About Claire Dominics Buro

Claire Dominics Buro is an international interior design and interior architecture studio specialising in luxury hospitality and high-end residential projects. With a strong foundation in hospitality, developed over many years, the studio approaches each project through the lens of experience — considering not only how a space looks, but how it is felt, used, and remembered.

Its work is defined by a multi-sensory approach to design, where light, material, acoustics, and spatial flow are treated as equally important components. This is closely tied to a commitment to biophilic and sustainable principles, integrated as part of the design process rather than applied superficially — shaping how spaces connect to their context and how they perform over time.

Working across Europe and the Middle East, Claire Dominics Buro develops projects from concept through to realisation, combining design precision with technical depth. Claire Dominics Buro is part of Globinter Group, bringing over 20 years of experience in contracting, fit-out, and turnkey project delivery. This foundation allows the studio to move seamlessly between creative direction and execution, while maintaining a clear and independent design voice.
