PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is an iconic hotel landmark in Singapore, offering a unique ‘hotel-in-a-garden’ concept that seamlessly blends cutting-edge environmentally-friendly practices and technologies throughout the building. The hotel has won an International Sustainable Awards in 2023 in the category of Sustainable Design and Infrastructure, which showcases its commitment to sustainable development. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is located near Chinatown in Singapore.
Designed by world-renowned architects, WOHA, the hotel’s architecture features 15,000 square meters of lush greenery, lofty sky gardens, reflective pools, and towering tiers of greenery, forming Singapore’s first hotel-in-a-garden.
The verdant tropical urban high-rise garden features 50 different varieties of plants including Monsteras, Alocasias, Calatheas, ferns, and palm varieties. The plants were chosen to address varying natural light and wind conditions and to encourage biodiversity in the city. The greenery helps to absorb heat, shade hard surfaces, and improve air quality through evaporative transpiration. Ferns, Mondo grass, Alocasia, and Euterpe Palms were planted to minimize pest attacks and lower maintenance efforts. Rain harvesting, auto-irrigation, and fertigation systems have been installed to provide slow, steady, and precise amounts of water and nutrients to the planters.
The hotel has several green features and innovations, including the 262 solar panels on the roof for clean, renewable energy, EV charging stations, and the use of an electric car for guest transfers. The building is designed with a short depth to maximize natural daylight and uses high-performance glass that cuts out solar heat but allows plenty of natural light. Photo sensors are used to monitor light levels, and energy-efficient LED and T5 fluorescent lamps and water-efficient fittings are also used throughout the building.
Dining at the prestigious hotel is world-class and the variety of culinary experiences promises something for every guest. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering’s Lime restaurant offers both a-la-carte and buffet menus, featuring freshly harvested herbs, fruits and flowers from their rooftop Urban Farm. The restaurant serves international and Asian cuisine, making it a perfect place for business lunches, after-work cocktails, and celebratory dinners. Lime-on-the-Go offers island-wide delivery of set meals and afternoon tea, and Lime Pâtisserie provides a myriad of freshly made cakes, macarons, pralines, and muffins.
On top of using freshly-picked ingredients from their Urban Farm to create delicious meals, the hotel’s food waste digester converts food waste into greywater, which is responsibly discharged into sewage instead of landfill.
Heavily focused on sustainability, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering incorporates various energy-saving features throughout the building. Awarded ‘World’s Leading Green City Hotel’ in the prestigious World Travel Awards, the hotel positions Singapore as a world leader of green high-rise developments.
The hotel’s rooms and suites are inspired by nature, and there are various types of rooms available, all designed to provide a welcoming sanctuary for guests’ staycation or vacation. The hotel has designed more than 50% of its guestroom corridors to be naturally ventilated so as to reduce dependency on artificial lights. All guest rooms have separate recycling bins as well as a 3M water filter dispenser, eliminating the consumption of single-use plastic bottles and allowing guests to enjoy an unlimited supply of drinking water. All-natural products with recycled composite granite are used for bathtubs, sinks, and vanity tops. Large windows are incorporated to allow maximum natural light, which reduces the need for artificial lighting. Finally, premium amenities are provided in pump bottles that are biodegradable, paraben-free, and cruelty-free.
The hotel boasts a dedicated wellness floor, featuring an outdoor infinity pool, bird-cage cabanas, 300-meter garden walk, fitness center, and a range of holistic spa treatments at St. Gregory that will leave guests feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is an excellent venue for meetings, events, and weddings, offering fully customizable spaces to cater to any occasion. With its exceptional service, eco-conscious menu options, and a wide range of event packages, the hotel provides an effortless experience in hosting extraordinary events.
