Best Luxury Rooftop View in Chicago

AC: The Godfrey Hotel Chicago has recently been awarded Best Luxury Rooftop View Hotel in Chicago, USA. How does this recognition reflect the values and mission of your hotel?

Ludmila Chervona: We’re absolutely thrilled about this recognition – it means a lot to us. Our team works hard every day to create an experience that’s not just luxurious, but also welcoming and memorable. The award speaks to our focus on thoughtful design, personalized service, and making sure every guest feels truly taken care of. It’s a great reminder that what we do matters and that people are noticing.

AC: Luxury is all about providing exclusive experiences. What elements of the Godfrey Hotel’s services and amenities make it truly stand out in terms of luxury?

LC: To us, luxury is about the little details and creating moments that feel special. Our rooms are spacious and beautifully designed – think wet bars, comfy seating, and big workspaces if you’re here for business. But the real showstopper is I|O Godfrey, our rooftop lounge. It’s open all year thanks to a retractable roof, and the views of the Chicago skyline are just breathtaking. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or you’re a local, it always feels like something special.

AC: As an industry leader, how does the Godfrey Hotel Chicago maintain its reputation for exceptional quality and guest satisfaction?

LC: We really pride ourselves on consistency and care. It starts with our team – they’re passionate about hospitality and genuinely love what they do. We also pay close attention to feedback and use it to make improvements, big or small. Whether it’s a personalized welcome or a room refresh based on guest preferences, we’re always thinking about how to go above and beyond.

AC: The Godfrey is known for its incredible rooftop views. Could you tell us how the I|O Rooftop Lounge contributes to the hotel’s unique luxury experience?

LC: Absolutely—it’s honestly one of my favorite parts of the hotel. I|O is more than a rooftop—it’s a destination. There’s something magical about sipping a cocktail by the fire pit with the city skyline around you. The retractable roof means we can offer that experience year-round, which is pretty rare in Chicago. It’s a place where people gather for celebrations, casual nights out, and special events. It really adds an extra layer to what we offer.

AC: Can you share with us how your brand maintains a balance between luxury and innovation? What unique features or innovations have you introduced recently?

LC: It’s definitely a balance, but we try to let design and function work together. Our Cubist-inspired architecture sets a bold tone, and inside, we integrate smart technology and versatile spaces that adapt to different guest needs. One recent example is how we’ve adapted our event spaces to be more flexible for hybrid meetings. At the same time, we want it to feel warm, not overly techy. Innovation should elevate the experience, not complicate it.

AC: The hotel industry is highly competitive, especially in a city like Chicago. What strategies have you employed to maintain your market reach, and are there new regions you’re focusing on expanding into?

LC: Chicago is a very competitive market, which is why we stay focused on what makes us different – stylish design, great service, and a vibe that feels local. We put a lot into our partnerships, digital presence, and unique events at I|O to draw people in. Our reach continues to grow beyond the city too – we see guests from all over the Midwest and beyond, especially for business travel and special events.

AC: Customer reviews are crucial in the hospitality industry. How does The Godfrey Hotel ensure that its guests’ experiences remain consistently high, and are there any notable testimonials you’d like to share?

LC: We read every review. They help us learn and grow. Our guests often mention how friendly and accommodating our staff is, which makes me so proud. A lot of people also comment on how unexpectedly spacious and stylish the rooms are, and of course, the rooftop always steals the spotlight. We try to make every stay feel personal, whether it’s a birthday getaway or a quick business trip.

AC: As an area manager, what steps do you take to uphold the hotel’s brand identity, especially in a market that is so driven by exclusivity and personalized experiences?

LC: For me, it’s about making sure the guest experience is cohesive and intentional. That means everything from how our front desk team greets you to the music playing at the rooftop to the scent in the lobby. I’m involved in big-picture planning, but also in those small day-to-day details. Consistency is key but so is flexibility. We’re constantly adjusting to make sure we’re delivering what guests want in a way that feels authentic to who we are.
