The design process starts with an in-depth consultation where they fully understand the client’s wishes, budgets, and required time frame. A brainstorming session follows to develop the mood board, encompassing all aspects of the design process, including ideas, sketches, textures, materials and color schemes.  

Once the style of the project is established, it is time for the concept design stage, which involves the presentation of high-quality drawings and Computer Generated Images (CGI). The designers submit their ideas for approval through floor plans and furniture layouts with 3D perspectives, including imagery of suggested furniture and joinery concepts. After client’s feedback, the detailed design is embarked on to produce drawings for the contractor carrying out the work. This includes Auto Cad drawings, schedules of selected furniture, joinery and bespoke furniture details and samples. 

Once the project begins, the company takes on full supervision with regular site meetings to ensure the approved design is implemented accurately and satisfies the company’s high standards. Regardless of the size and type of project, they make sure to exceed every client’s expectation and make their visions come to reality.  

Qreative Design Studio this year has been specially acknowledged for its work on MAA Aali Villa in Bahrain, which is situated less than 500m from the Dilmun Burial Mounds (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Nature is the core design principle of the house, with an olive tree at its heart surrounded by a semi-open staircase. The clever use of neutral colors and natural textures throughout complements the hardwood with the main door constructed of oak with a bespoke door handle made from locally harvested tree branches. 

Several challenges had to be mastered when taking on this project. To combat Bahrain’s harsh climate and the severe impact of bright sunshine, the pool and windows have been placed on the northern side of the house. This provides an abundance of indirect sunlight while maximizing views. With so much glass used in the construction, there was also the challenge to maintain privacy, achieved by creating mini gardens that extend to the indoor spaces. The design was also cleverly conceived to take advantage of the irregularities of the land. The angled edges of the plot boundary have been used for balconies and open outdoor spaces to maintain regular shapes in the interior spaces.
