Studio Dua Abukhalaf, a renowned boutique multidisciplinary design studio, has been awarded a coveted Luxury Lifestyle Awards for Best Luxury Architecture (Single Residential Project) in 2024. The award recognizes the outstanding architectural design of the BA Villa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This innovative project exemplifies the studio’s commitment to merging creative authenticity with functional modernity.

Founded by the enterprising architect Dua’a Abukhalaf, Studio Dua Abukhalaf has built a reputation for creating unique and memorable architectural spaces. The BA Villa project embodies their innovative approach, fusing contemporary aesthetics with site-specific solutions. Currently 70% complete, this new build showcases a bold design vision that reimagines the residential experience.

The BA Villa, located in Riyadh, spans 500 m² and is designed as a sanctuary for a family of four. The home’s layout features a U-shape centered around an open courtyard with a garden and swimming pool, ensuring a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Upon entering, visitors are met with an unexpected architectural reveal—the house, initially introverted from the street, opens into a light-filled space with expansive views of the garden and the floating mass of the master suite.

The villa’s design thoughtfully addresses sustainability. The orientation of the building maximizes natural light while minimizing heat gain, supported by double-glazed windows for superior insulation. The central courtyard with the pool promotes ventilation and Solar panels further contribute to energy efficiency, while the lush garden not only enhances the natural beauty of the space but also supports home farming for the residents.
