Fontanafredda, the famous producer of Barolo and esteemed wines from the Langhe region, is thrilled to announce its exceptional achievement as one of the TOP 100 Premium Wine and Spirits Brands of the World, 2023 by Luxury Lifestyle Awards. This prestigious recognition is a testament to Fontanafredda’s steadfast dedication to producing exceptional wines and pioneering sustainable viticulture practices.
Nestled in the heart of Serralunga d’Alba, Fontanafredda traces its roots back to 1858, born from the historic love story between King Vittorio Emanuele II and Rosa Vercellana. The winery has evolved into a symbol of Italian winemaking excellence, blending tradition with innovation.
Fontanafredda’s commitment to sustainability is a cornerstone of its philosophy. The Green Renaissance initiative represents a forward-thinking approach, encompassing organic farming practices, energy efficiency, and environmentally conscious packaging. The winery’s 120 hectares of organic crops frame Italy’s first Storytelling Village, where the harmony between land, community, and wine is celebrated.
“We are honored to be recognized among the TOP 100 Premium Wine & Spirits Brands of the World by Luxury Lifestyle Awards. This achievement reflects not only our dedication to crafting exceptional wines but also our commitment to sustainability and preserving our rich heritage,” said Sig. Roberto Bruno- Managing Director at Fontanafredda.
Fontanafredda offers iconic classics such as Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba and Barolo Classico, alongside unique single-vineyard productions like Barolo Vigna La Rosa, Barolo Paiagallo Vigna La Villa, and Barolo Lazzarito Vigna La Delizia. Not only a diverse range of red and white wines, but the production includes Alta Langa Metodo Classico.
Fontanafredda’s commitment to quality extends to the vineyard, where grapes are meticulously hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness. The winemaking process combines traditional methods with modern techniques, including the use of native yeasts from the vineyards. Aging in Slavonian oak barrels imparts austerity and depth to Barolo and structured reds, while fresh reds find their home in concrete tanks.
