The hotel is committed to sustainability and climate action while delivering a luxury guest experience that integrates eco-friendly practices. During construction, the hotel embraced a rejuvenation over a reconstruction approach to preserving the indoor atrium. This prevented over 51,300 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere. The hotel’s vast skylight filters ample daylight into the hotel through its double-glazed glass, and chiller fans are run at a lower speed to conserve energy. On the roof, 210 solar panels produce around 350-kilowatt hours of clean, renewable energy daily.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore is also home to a large, rooftop Urban Farm. Covering 150 square meters, the farm grows over 60 varieties of fruit, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers, which form the backbone of the hotel’s farm-to-table, farm-to-bar, and farm-to-spa concepts. The farm provides nearly 20% of the hotel’s food supply, boosting food supply resilience and reducing its reliance on food imports and the resulting knock-on carbon emissions from transportation. The hotel also successfully recycles its food waste like vegetables, poultry, bones, egg shells, and fruit peels.

Catering to the environmentally conscious traveler, guest rooms come complete with water filtration systems and glass bottles, eliminating the carbon impact from the production and processing of up to 360,000 single-use plastic bottles a year. Low-flow showerheads reduce water from 27 to nine liters a minute, and water pumps run at low pressure to reduce water consumption. In-room motion sensors intelligently manage lighting and cooling to save energy, powering down lights and air conditioning when no guest presence is detected.
