This is why Rumour Has It has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Best Luxury Commercial Interior Design for ‘Ernie Els Wines’ in South Africa by Luxury Lifestyle Awards, recognition which is truly deserved.

Ernie Els Wines was founded in 1999 by the world-famous South African golfing hero Ernie Els, with the intention of producing world class wines to mirror some of the greatest vintages he had been fortunate to enjoy during his playing career which took him all around the world.

Skilfully crafted by wine-making legend Louis Strydom in the famous wine-making region of Helderberg in Stellenbosch, Ernie Els Wines are known all over South Africa and the wider wine-drinking world.

Rumour Has It was appointed interior brand architects with the commission of developing a complete core concept with overall brand rollout, ensuring that the new brand DNA was woven through the entire company and the wine experience on its magnificent estate near the Helderberg mountains.

The team at Rumour Has It based the new design concept on a rustic but modern farmhouse style with local themes, and carried this concept across all parts of the winery, including wine-tasting areas, a farm-to-table restaurant, a boutique fermentation and barrel cellar and wine library as well as private Winemaker’s and Chef’s table experiences.

This new brand identity was consistently applied throughout the Ernie Els wine estate, through the innovative use of textiles and fabrics, commissioned artworks and bespoke furniture and furnishings, purpose-built light fittings and accessories and the holistic design approach. A range of newly-commissioned uniforms, signage, wallpaper and packaging completed the Life and Soul of Wine, Art and Culinary experiences.

It is Rumour Has It’s attention to details on projects such as Ernie Els wines which give the studio its well-deserved reputation for perfection in design tasks big and small, with no detail overlooked and nothing left to change. This is why Rumour Has It is a worthy recipient of this prestigious Luxury Lifestyle Award.
