OFFA _ Office of Feeling Architecture is a Portuguese architectural firm driven by a team of three passionate experimentalists. Founded on the belief that architecture and design can be powerful tools for social commentary and emotional expression, OFFA takes a critical and reactionary approach to their projects. This philosophy has garnered them international recognition, including the title of Best Luxury Architecture (Single Residential Project) by Luxury Lifestyle Awards for their visionary project, Eruption of a Dreaminess. 

Eruption of a Dreaminess embodies OFFA’s design ethos. This private residence in Portugal translates the client’s aspirations into a tangible dreamscape. Here, the pre-existing structure acts as a grounding element, while the newly built sections appear to “float” above it. Geometric shapes, deliberately left open to interpretation, weave together in a dreamlike quality, defying clear definition. Each distinct volume forms a self-contained living area, offering a sense of independence within the home. 

Materiality plays a crucial role in reinforcing the project’s concept. Stone anchors the residence to the earth, respecting the existing structure. Ochre-colored concrete used for the floating volumes evokes the idea of soil lifted from the ground. The strategic use of glass maintains a sense of openness, framing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
