One of  ENG Ahmed Mobarak’s recent standout projects is The Courtyard House, a remarkable new build currently in its finishing phase. Construction of the skeleton structure began in February 2023 and was completed in September 2023. The Courtyard House is an example of Arraya’s ability to blend modern architecture with traditional values. The client requested a five-bedroom apartment with a rooftop studio and a 2 level basement featuring maid and driver quarters, as well as a parking area. The second-level basement provides an additional layer of functionality and privacy with natural temperature control where you can find mega courts opened all the way through the building to allow natural light in all levels and natural wind turbulence. A fun area with a swimming pool and gym offers full privacy, respecting local customs.

Arraya’s design for The Courtyard House skillfully incorporates natural lighting and ventilation, utilizing open courtyards that catch cool air and natural light. Windows with louvers maintain high privacy, while 90% of the house’s windows open toward internal courtyards, aligning with traditional Arabian customs. The roof garden provides a tranquil, private retreat for the family.

Arraya Consultant Office remains driven towards the implementation of sustainable practices by reducing energy consumption through natural ventilation and drought-resistant landscaping, supporting local biodiversity while minimizing irrigation.
