Corinthia Lisbon, a renowned five-star hotel in Portugal, has been honored with the prestigious International Sustainable Award in recognition of its exceptional sustainability initiatives aimed at significantly reducing its carbon footprint. As part of their Energy Efficient Project, Corinthia Lisbon collaborated with industry leaders Galp Soluções de Energia and Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ) in 2007 to develop tailor-made engineering solutions. These solutions incorporate state-of-the-art equipment that not only ensures high levels of performance in energy efficiency but also enables the hotel to produce energy autonomously. Through this project, Corinthia Lisbon has successfully transformed various aspects of its operations, including a major reconversion of lighting systems to utilize energy-saving LED technology, and improvements in technical areas such as water reservoirs, heat exchangers, and laundry equipment, resulting in increased efficiency and enhanced quality.

The hotel’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond energy efficiency, as Corinthia Lisbon became the first hotel in Portugal to install charging stations for electric vehicles, exemplifying their dedication to embracing innovative solutions.
