Acetaia del Cristo – One of the Best Luxury Balsamic Vinegars in the World

Each drop of Acetaia del Cristo’s magnificent traditional balsamic vinegar tells a story. Sometimes it is an inspiring tale of energy and experience in which the finest shades of flavor are intricately intertwined; sometimes, it is a wise parable about the importance of patience to achieve results; sometimes, it is a mysterious myth kept by ancient woods and shared through subtle gustatory sensations. But it is always a story of passion and perfection that results in one of the most amazing products, which has earned Acetaia del Cristo the status of the winner of Luxury Lifestyle Awards in the category of Best Luxury Balsamic Vinegar in the World 2021 for the second consecutive year.

The unique and rich taste of Acetaia del Cristo traditional balsamic vinegar is the result of the hard work and dedication of four generations of artisans. Since its founding in 1849, the company has demonstrated a dedication to tradition and a willingness to innovate that has allowed it to create products that embody the uniqueness of Modena’s climate and the hard work of its inhabitants. The history of Acetaia del Cristo began when Eugenio Barbieri and Loris Bellei pooled their experience and inheritance from century-old casks and began to increase the number of casks. Today their descendants proudly carry on their work and hold the title of the largest producer of traditional Modena balsamic vinegar with 2000 wooden casks of various types.

Acetaia del Cristo balsamic vinegar production is based on the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) regulations and ancient traditions brought to perfection. This refers to cultivating the organically farmed grapes, vintage, must cooking, drawing, decanting, and topping-up operations. The most important stage of production is aging in wooden barrels, and it takes at least 12 years. The real treasure of delicious discoveries becomes available after 25 years of aging – that is how the traditional balsamic vinegar of the Extra Old category is created.
