Participating in this award will support the resort's position in being a top choice in the destination not only within the region but also in other countries across the globe. This is another step forward to help us integrate our brand to the international luxury market lifestyle that where we aim to position the resort there.

2) Is there any positive tendency in the development of the local luxury market?

- The Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is the first resort island in the Middle East. Being recognized as an icon of luxury resort experience in the country and the region, has given the Arabic travel culture a new definition of opulence, while at the same time making sure that the local culture is being observed. Providing the local market an option to experience and feel Maldives in the Middle East has created a notable peak of demand within the GCC Market. The resort has been enjoying a good revenue and occupancy figures since its opening in January of 2015, a clear proof that the resort has made itself a preferred destination for travellers across the region in a short span of time. This is expected to contribute to Qatar’s aggressive plans to heighten the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.
